We have published the concept paper to integrate social science, molecular pathology, and epidemiology in social MPE to drive advancements of global health science and global precision medicine (Nishi et al. Expert Rev Mol Diagn 2016).
Health disparities exist based on gender, age (inclusive of childhood and adolescence), geography, race, ethnicity, culture, and socioeconomic status. To address this and benefit the global population, we have integrated social science and MPE. The social MPE model can apply laboratory science to the study of social environments, behaviors, and networks to gain novel insights into the health disparities and possible solutions.
